Each insurance company operates differently, but a common requirement among them is the need for a home inspection. It is advisable to inquire with your insurance provider whether they offer the inspection or if you will be responsible for the cost. Typically, you do not need to complete the inspection before purchasing insurance.

Once the policy is bound, the inspection may occur, and there are several types that could be conducted. The first is a standard exterior inspection, which includes photographs of the property and the roof. The second type is an interior inspection, covering plumbing, electrical systems, areas under sinks, the electrical panel, etc. The final type involves both an interior and exterior inspection.

It is important to discuss with your agent the type of inspection that will take place. Even if you are not explicitly informed about the inspection, be aware that it is highly likely to occur.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your local agent for assistance.
